Bad weather parking protocol
When the horse arena (our usual parking lot) is flooded, we use a tighter parking plan to reduce congestion on the blacktop and neighborhood streets. We keep a low profile out of respect for our neighbors.
What to do when the arena is out of commission
- Carpool if possible. We try to send a heads-up ahead of time when we can.
- Drop off and pick up in front of our property. Do not pull down the driveway — that can create a traffic jam.
- Early vault practice: leave promptly when your session ends so the next group can park.
- Park efficiently. Pull all the way forward and avoid leaving large gaps between cars.
- Allowed parking: in front of our property (okay to block trailers) and in our front courtyard.
Never park or wait on or in front of a neighbor’s property — including when the arena is open. All waiting should be done in front of our property only.
During flooded-arena periods we may also reduce AZPVA clinic spots (for example from 30 to 20) and adjust related weight-lifting club sessions as needed. Thank you for helping us be good neighbors.
